• A Song...

"Do you ever feel like breaking down?
Do you ever feel out of place?
Like somehow you just don’t belong
    And no one understands you"
    -SIMPLE PLAN

I bet this extract from a song sums up exactly how everyone who is reading this, has felt once. Isn't it amazing when you find a song that can explain your feelings or emotions better than you can yourself? Music has always been a big part of my life because it can take me to another world, a better world. A world that can help take problems away even if it's just for a couple of minutes. I remember, as a kid, loving the "MINI DISCO" songs that made you run up to the dance floor because you knew all the actions to "Agadoo". Then, I just liked the idea of bustin' out all the right moves and actions to the songs, not worrying about the actual meaning behind the song or the person who wrote it. Now things are different, i guess it's called growing up. Now music is my way of understanding my own feelings that i have trouble explaining.
Somebody once said "Every song ends, but that's no reason not to enjoy the music", i believe this can apply to almost anything. Just because you know something has to end that doesn't mean that you can't enjoy it. Live for the moment, don't spend your whole life dreading the end.
I'll tell you what i believe to be one of the worst feelings in the world...the feeling that no matter what you do, it will never be good enough. Now, that's hard but also very common. It's difficult because nobody can really help you, it's down to you in the end to change and to MAKE the things you do matter. When you feel like a refugee, travelling down all the roads and paths trying to just find a place where you believe that you actually belong, where people DO understand you, can be one of the trickiest journeys you may ever have to do...but I promise you, it’s worth every step. You can find that place where you don't have to put up a fake smile everyday just to get through the day, where people are there to help when the world comes crashing down.
Music can change your whole life, if you want it to. I believe it to be one of the best things in the world...cos it brings people together...something that will not be affected by things such as war and terrorism...surely something so indestructible is something that should be held closely to our hearts letting us turn a blind eye to reality if only for a second...

  • Keep Going...

"Do not let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark in the hopeless swamps of the not-quite, the not-yet, and the not-at-all. Do not let the hero in your soul perish in lonely frustration for the life you deserved and have never been able to reach. The world you desire can be won. It exists... it is real... it is possible... it's yours."-- Ayn Rand, "Atlas Shrugged"

I stumbled on this quote a while ago, and as I have a huge thing about little sayings and quotes that explain feelings or emotions better than the individual themselves, I thought it was appropriate to use. I've realised that everybody at some point in their life, comes across a time where they feel that living is about all the surviving they can handle, I know I've had it. But I've also overcome it. That feeling, believe it or not disappears...with help from friends, family, a song or a teacher. That feeling goes away. We often spend so long feeling sorry for ourselves when things go wrong, we forget that it's not the end until things are ok. That's the thing with pain...you have two choices...you can either let it destroy you, or you can turn and fight back. I guess thats up to you. People have so much fire in them, probably more than they know and if they want to fight, if deep down inside of them they know they are not ready to give up, they can fight like hell to survive. They can find the paper that can re-light the fire and give them the energy to face another day.
